1What is a pip in forex?
A pip (percentage in point) is the smallest standard price move in forex. For most pairs it's the 4th decimal place (0.0001). For JPY pairs it's the 2nd decimal (0.01).
2How do you calculate pip value?
Pip value = pip size × contract size × exchange rate × lots. For EUR/USD at 1 standard lot, one pip = 0.0001 × 100,000 × 1.0 = $10.
3Does pip value change with lot size?
Yes. A micro lot (0.01) has a pip value of $0.10 for EUR/USD, a mini lot (0.10) is $1.00, and a standard lot (1.00) is $10.00.
4What is pip value for gold (XAU/USD)?
For gold, 1 pip = $0.01 move. With a contract size of 100 oz at 1 lot, pip value = $1.00 per pip.
