1Which forex pair is most volatile?
GBP/JPY is typically the most volatile major pair with ATR around 130 pips. XAU/USD (Gold) and BTC/USD show even higher pip ranges.
2Should I trade volatile pairs?
High volatility means larger potential gains but also larger potential losses. Use smaller position sizes on volatile pairs and wider stop losses.
3Does volatility change throughout the day?
Yes. Volatility peaks during session overlaps (London-New York) and around major news releases. It drops significantly during the late Asian session and over weekends.
