CFD trading in Taiwan is conducted through internationally regulated offshore brokers, as the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) of Taiwan does not license retail CFD platforms domestically. Taiwanese traders access global CFD markets via FCA, ASIC and MAS-regulated brokers, which offer strong fund protection and competitive trading conditions. Taiwan Dollar (TWD) accounts are uncommon at international brokers, so most traders operate USD-denominated accounts with wire transfers or cryptocurrency funding.
Taiwanese traders have a strong tradition of derivatives trading — Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) is one of Asia's busiest futures markets. This familiarity with leverage instruments translates well to CFD trading, particularly index and technology stock CFDs tracking TSMC and other TWSE-listed names that influence global semiconductor markets.

Trading CFDs through offshore internationally regulated brokers is practised widely in Taiwan and is not explicitly prohibited for retail individuals. The FSC does not license domestic CFD brokers, so all retail CFD trading involves foreign platforms. Use only brokers regulated by top-tier authorities.
Several international CFD brokers offer TSMC (TSM) stock CFDs via the US-listed ADR. This allows Taiwanese traders to take long or short positions on Taiwan's largest company without using a local securities account.
International bank wire transfer is the most reliable method, though fees can be high. USDT (Tether) cryptocurrency deposits are increasingly popular as a lower-cost alternative. Skrill and Neteller are also accepted at many brokers.
