Swap/Rollover Calculator FAQ
1What is a swap in forex?
A swap (or rollover) is the interest rate differential charged or credited when holding a position overnight. It reflects the difference between the interest rates of the two currencies in the pair.
2When are swaps charged?
Swaps are charged daily at the rollover time (usually 5 PM EST / 10 PM GMT). On Wednesdays, most brokers charge triple swap to account for the weekend settlement.
3Can swaps be positive?
Yes. If you buy a currency with a higher interest rate and sell one with a lower rate, you earn positive swap (carry trade). This is common with pairs like AUD/JPY.
